Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults residing east of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC. BBAR oversees key projects such as the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), 11th Street Bridge Park, THEARC Farm, THEARC Theater, and the Skyland Workforce Center. These initiatives aim to address social, health, environmental, and economic disparities in the community.
